The Nuts and Bolts for Starting a Chapter of European Americans United

  1. Whenever three or more Volunteer Members livewithin close enough proximity to cooperate on projects, they may applyto the Board of Directors for permission to form a local Chapter of theOrganization.

  2. In order to found aChapter, the At-Large members will provide an application to the Boardcontaining the membership identification of the members of the proposedChapter, a suitable name for the Chapter, and the membershipidentification of the member who is proposed to be the ChapterCoordinator. The Board of Directors will review this application andapprove or disapprove of the new Chapter, or approve it with conditionson a simple majority vote.

  3. Theconditions imposed by the Board may include without limitations theappointment of a Chapter Coordinator other than the one proposed, arevision of the name of the Chapter or the exclusion of a member fromthe formed Chapter without prejudice.

  4. Uponapproval of the Chapter by the Board, the Chapter Coordinator shallappoint an alternate from the Chapter Members who shall serve in hisstead in the event of his no longer being a member, incapacity, or anyother reason he cannot fulfill the duties of his office. The ChapterCoordinator shall inform the Board of Directors of this choice.

  5. At-largemembers may become Chapter Members if the Chapter Coordinator allowstheir membership in the Chapter except as otherwise provided in thisConstitution. Chapter Coordinators shall inform the Board of Directorsof the change in status of the member by forwarding details of themember’s membership identification to the Board of Directors.

  1. The Board of Directors may, at any time and forany reason, with or without notice, decommission a Chapter or appoint anew person as a Chapter’s coordinator.

  2. TheBoard of Directors may, at any time and for any reason, with or withoutnotice, appoint a Chapter Member or Chapter Coordinator as either amember of the Board of Directors or as an Administrative Member subjectto that member’s consent.

  3. If a ChapterMember or Chapter Coordinator has been made a member of the Board ofDirectors or an Administrative Member, then administrative work shalltake priority over Chapter work and the member shall be relieved ofChapter responsibilities if he so chooses and informs the ChapterCoordinator accordingly. This is an option rather than a requirementand would only be made a requirement in a given case by a simplemajority vote of the Board of Directors if Chapter responsibilitieswere compromising administrative tasks.

  4. Chaptermembers and Chapters as a whole are expected to represent the best thattraditional European Americans have to offer, and should groom theirappearance, presentation and behavior accordingly.

  5. Chaptermembers and Chapters as a whole are expected to uphold theOrganization’s Ethics and Organization’s Statement of Principles andObjectives.

  6. While Chapters mayundertake projects that advance the Organization’s objectives undertheir own direction, the Board of Directors may, at any time, call ahalt to such projects by a simple majority vote.

  7. ChapterCoordinators shall file a monthly summary report of the Chapter’sactivities over the past month. The summary shall be sufficientlydetailed to allow for reporting in the Organization’s periodiccommunications with all Organization members, but sufficientlyambiguous that a person reading the report would be unable to statethat any given member was at a precise location at a precise time.

  8. IfChapter Coordinators collect donations from Chapter members to assistwith Chapter activities, those funds should be used for Chapteractivities. Chapter funds shall not be forwarded to the Organization,the Board of Directors, or any purpose outside the Chapter except withthe unanimous approval of all Chapter Members who contributed thefunds. Chapter Coordinators shall provide Chapter Members with a fullaccounting of the fate of their donations at least twice a year.

  9. Chapter Coordinators may delegate responsibility to Chapter Members.

  10. ChapterCoordinators may exclude Chapter Members from the Chapter for anyreason at their sole discretion causing the member’s membership statusto revert to At-Large. The Board of Directors shall not have the powerto override such an exclusion exercised by a Chapter Coordinator.

  11. Ifa Chapter has more than fifteen members, it may adopt a Chapter Boardof Directors rather than a Chapter Coordinator and establish its ownrules for the selection and composition of the Chapter Board exceptthat members of the Chapter Board may be removed by the OrganizationBoard at any time and for any reason by a simple majority vote.

  12. Anyrule in this Constitution applying to Chapter Coordinators will applyequally to both Chapter Boards as a whole and Chapter Board membersindividually.

  13. The Organization’s Boardof Directors may promulgate additional rules for Chapters, theirformation, and their activities at their discretion, and will make surethat all member volunteers have an updated copy of the rules at leastyearly and that Chapter Coordinators are provided with any amendmentsor additions as soon as possible after their adoption.
